Doreen was born in Felixstowe where she has lived for most of her life, (12 years spent in Essex)! Educated at Felixstowe Grammar School she then entered the legal profession where she worked for 16 years becoming a Managing Clerk for a firm of Essex Solicitors. Doreen has 3 children and 6 grandchildren all of whom live in the Town. It is the 4th time she has represented the Town as Mayor. Doreen was awarded the MBE for services to local government in Felixstowe in 2009.
Doreen says she is passionate about Felixstowe and its future and proud of the improvements that have been achieved for the Town Centre.
There is so much of which to be proud in the Town - not least the successful Port of Felixstowe with whom the Town Council has a close association.
The coming year holds a great deal of anticipation - the lottery bid for the Spa Gardens, sea defence works and it is hoped, progress on the South seafront land!
