Renting an allotment from the Town Council

If you are interested in renting an allotment and for up to date information about waiting lists please contact Sue Faversham on 01394 288191or email sue.faversham@felixstowe.gov.uk

The annual rent for an allotment for the year 2015/16 is £5.25 per ‘rod’ (allotments were traditionally measured in rods, a non-metric measurement approximately equal to 25m2). Single plots around 5 rods therefore currently attract a basic rent of £26.25 per year. Double plots around 10 rods in size attract a basic rent of £52.50 per year.

There is also an annual charge for water which is set at £5.75 per single plot for the year 2015/16

Senior citizens (on evidence of being in receipt of state pension) or Long-Term Unemployed (on evidence of associated unemployment benefits) are offered a 50% discount on the basic allotment rent, whether the allotment be let as a single or joint tenancy, provided that at least one tenant qualifies.
