Join us at the Triangle in town from 10am – 12noon on Saturday 17th June for the launch of our annual floral display scheme – Felixstowe in Flower.
- Free sunflower plants and seeds
- Music from The Stowaways
- Balloons and other goodies
- Horticultural Society stand
- Girl Guides stand
- …plus judge the Town Councillors’ flower pots!
Felixstowe Town Council organises and funds the displays but the whole community is able to participate and contribute towards to making Felixstowe a more beautiful place by entering one of our free to enter competitions which are open to residents and businesses in the town. Competitions include private gardens, allotments, floral containers, commercial premises, residential homes, public houses, hotels and guest houses. Thanks once again to the East of England Co-Operative Society who have provided grow bags to all the local schools and seeds for children to enter our ‘tallest sunflower’ challenge.
CALLING ALL GARDENERS AND BUSINESSES
HAVE YOU CONSIDERED TAKING PART THIS YEAR IN FELIXSTOWE IN FLOWER’S FREE TO ENTER COMPETITIONS?
Judging will take place in the summer and prizes are awarded to the best entries at the Felixstowe in Flower Awards ceremony in September.
Sponsor a floral display. Why not sponsor one or more of the hanging baskets which are put up throughout Felixstowe and Walton? Many local businesses and organisations are already recognised with their names on a plaque beside floral displays they have sponsored and new sponsors are always welcome.
The cost of sponsoring a hanging basket for the whole summer is just £50 for the first, with each additional basket only £30 each. Larger tubs and troughs are £65 each. This represents excellent value for money as the cost covers the purchase, installation, maintenance and watering of the displays plus the name of the sponsor so all can see who is supporting the event.
All competition entry and sponsorship forms can be downloaded from our website. Alternatively drop in to the Town Hall (9am – 4pm Monday to Friday) or Felixstowe Library.
