Felixstowe Town Council is a local council serving and representing the residents of Felixstowe. Our small team supports the Mayor of Felixstowe and the 15 other Town Councillors in their responsibilities, which include; local community buildings, allotments, cemetery, play areas, Remembrance events, Felixstowe in Flower and town twinning; as well as other community action, such as; providing grants to local organisations, responding to local planning applications, strategic plans and consultations.
About the Role
We are looking for an gardener/groundskeeper to help maintain our allotments, cemetery (including digging for burials), and other community sites. This is a great opportunity for someone skilled in grounds maintenance to join a team that enjoys serving their local community.
The successful postholder will be appointed on a fixed-term one-year contract, though would be welcome to apply for any permanent vacancies within the organisation should they arise.
You will be a hard-working, skilled individual who enjoys the challenge of working outdoors, in all weathers, to help maintain community sites.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work alone or as part of a small team to a high standard. You will take pride in yourself and your work, have good attention to detail, and capable of carrying out all types of grounds maintenance work including grass cutting and hedge trimming (using ride on mowers and associated small machinery), litter picking and site inspections.
The ideal candidate will be ready to start as soon as possible, hold a current UK driving licence and be qualified to undertake duties commensurate with the role.
