Posted by Town Hall Staff 27 February 2017

The Great British Spring Clean is calling on individuals, community groups, charities, sports clubs, business, local authorities and many more to sign up and take part  3rd -5th March 2017.   You’ll join an ever growing band of people who have had enough of other people’s litter, are willing to donate their time to help clear it up and want to see an end to littering.  The Great British Spring Clean campaign aims to bring together people from across the country to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and coastline.

Can’t make this weekend?   Every year hundreds of volunteers across East Suffolk mobilise to give an area they love a well-deserved “Spring Clean”.   Love East Suffolk is an incentive based community litter pick scheme to encourage more volunteers to help keep our environment clean and tidy.  The aim is to reward and show pride in people and communities who carry out voluntary litter picking activities in the districts of Suffolk Coastal and Waveney.  For each community group that carries out litter picks, a small financial reward of £20 will be offered, as well as them being entered into a prize draw for £200, which have been funded through Norse.

Suffolk Coastal Norse can provide volunteers with equipment including sacks, disposable gloves, and loan sticks and hoops to groups on request and will also arrange for gathered litter to be collected.

For further information and to register your community litter pick please register your activity online here or call Suffolk Coastal Norse on 01394 444000
