Felixstowe is a Dementia Friendly community.

Felixstowe Town Council is member of the Felixstowe Dementia Action Alliance and is committed to supporting the DAA as Dementia Friends. Our Staff and Members have attended Dementia Awareness Training and are adept at recognising and dealing with people who have dementia, both in person at our offices and on the telephone. We aim to provide high-quality customer service, help and information to all.

The Town Council’s Dementia Action Plan can be found here.

The Felixstowe Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) steering group was set up in June 2015.  It comprises local councillors, nurses, Alzheimer’s Society staff , Sue Ryder café managers and local community leaders.  With support from the DAA there are an increasing number of Dementia Friendly organisations in Felixstowe – a list can be found here: https://www.dementiaaction.org.uk/local_alliances/14357_felixstowe_dementia_action_alliance
